About Rosjke
My passion for understanding the deeper dynamics between mothers and daughters started, as I write in The Silent Female Scream and The Mother-Daughter Puzzle, with my own struggles with my mother. And when my daughter was born I knew that I had to understand what had gone wrong between my mother and I, so that history wouldn’t repeat itself. I knew that I had to end the pattern of emotional silencing, emotional neglect, and sacrifice that had limited my mother’s and grandmother’s lives, and harmed their relationship with each other. I had to learn how to voice my emotional truth, my emotional needs, and raise my expectation to be heard and emotionally supported, so that my daughter would learn how to speak this new emotional language.
What started as a personal quest quickly grew into a life-long passion of understanding and healing what is causing today’s epidemic of mother-daughter conflict. I did not want mother and daughters to keep suffering in silence. And I wanted to create a new conversation that takes mother-daughter relationship conflict seriously, and honors how central the mother-daughter relationship is to women’s psychological development, emotional empowerment, and fight for equality.

Everything I have done over the last thirty years has led to this moment!
